Bibi Joan

Bibi Joan (b. 1985, Netherlands) is a conceptual artist who researches gender roles, sexuality and power relations. She uses the body as a means to investigate these themes. With her photography, videos and installations she reflects critically on traditional dividing lines between men and women, and she seeks to create a safe space for dialogue, co-creation and connection through her artistic practice. Since 2018, she has been working on projects within two larger series -- in Masculinity Lab she explores the concept of masculinity, and in Naked Dialogues she investigates, together with male artists, how men and women relate to each other.
