Fiona Filipidis

Fiona Filipidis (b. 1990, Paris) is a Franco-British artist based in London whose practice is born out of collection, research and empathic response, dealing with ideas of intimacy, loss, and memory. She received her MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from London College of Communication, and since then has had the opportunity to engage in residencies in Italy and the UK. Her work has been shown both nationally and internationally, including in Paris, Rome and New York City. Her image-text series Velvet, a reflection on love and loss, was created as a way of coming to terms with the end of her first tumultuous relationship.
