Henri Airo

Henri Airo (b. 1996, Finland) is a visual artist working with photography, text and archival material. He recently graduated from Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts with a BA in Photography. Henri's work is characterised by the dialectical document, simultaneously engaging a subject matter and the constructions within the medium used to represent that subject. The project "Varkaus" examines the identity of a small industrial city in Eastern Finland while staging an objection to the photographer-as-narrator by cooperating with the city’s residents. Airo's work has been exhibited at festivals and museums such as Krakow Photomonth and Amos Rex.
