Jianni Elsenhout

Jianni Elsenhout (b. 1991, Netherlands) is an Amsterdam based artistic photographer of Dutch and Surinamese-Chinese descent. He graduated from the Fotovakschool with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2021. His work is a visual diary in which he examines how the human mind works and influences his life. The human mind tricks itself in different situations, and Elsenhout attempts to visualize this in his series ‘REQUIEM’, which revolves around fear, and ‘PRO DEO’, which explores struggling with hope. The inner workings of the mind are visualised in his art as dream-like images, as for him life feels like a dream: both intangible and uncontrollable.
