Lisa Strautmann

Lisa Strautmann (b. 1988, Germany) is an artist and photographer based in Hamburg. She holds a BA in Physical Education, a BA in Psychology, and took various drama courses. Her artistic approach allows her to combine her educational expertise and inner nature-loving child with her adult self as a feminist woman. Strautmann’s subjects are mostly friends, her mother and herself. The nudity and diversity in her images and the process of creating them are her emancipation from conservative, socialized and internalized patterns. In her art she finds safe spaces to “live questions” and regain control and confidence as a woman. “My rebellion drives me,” she says.
