Mai S. Keldsen
DENMARK
Mai S. Keldsen (b. 1991) received her MFA from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2020 and also participated in the ISP at Maumaus Escola das Artes Visuais in 2016. Her work unfolds in photography, artist-books and installations, based on a practise that reflects upon the aesthetic, historical, cultural and spiritual aspects of landscapes through both playful and conceptual photographic methods that use no digital post-production. She engages performatively with specific geographies and, through often romanticized sceneries, deals critically with questions of position, storytelling and sustainability. She has had solo shows in Greece, Portugal and Germany and received the Caspar David Friedrich Prize in 2018.
