Noemi Heidel

Noemi Heidel (b. 1975, Germany) is an autodidact fine art photographer based in Berlin. After studying Cultural Studies at Humboldt University and working in the publishing industry, she began her creative journey in 2019, equipped with a Polaroid sx-70 camera. Her approach to photography is deeply connected to meditation and the aim of a state of oneness with her environment. Playing on the sensual and dreamlike aesthetics of instant film, her work translates the philosophical concept of an atmospheric experience that comes before the Cartesian separation between subject and object, into poetic images in which time seems to be suspended.
