CECILIE FANG - PORTFOLIO
Cecilie Fang (b. 1999, Denmark) is a photographer raised between Beijing (China) and Randers, (Denmark), currently living and working in The Netherlands. Earlier this year, Fang enrolled to study at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague.
Her work explores identities and inner struggles that reflect the physical environment. The main motto of her work is not to focus on one particular subject but rather explore and see where she ends up. The camera is for Fang a medium of self-expression. Every time she presses the shutter button a new side of her emerges. Though the lens of her camera she can simply observe and learn. The images she creates deepen her understanding about others but also about herself within the society.
Being rather new in the field of photography, Fang doesn’t want to categorise her practice just yet. Her body of work encompasses a collection of objects and situations that somehow caught her attention. What fascinates her mostly, is the mediums ability to capture the real world and document its mesmerising beauty but simultaneously create new, surreal worlds parallel to the one we know.
