Roxana Savin
ROMANIA
Roxana Savin (b. 1978, Romania) is a photographic artist based in Switzerland. Savin has a law degree and retrained as a photographer when living in Russia. She studied Photography at Fine Art School of Photography Moscow and was awarded a MA Photography with Distinction by Falmouth University. Savin’s latest project ‘I’ll be late tonight’ is based on her experience of living as a housewife in a gated expatriate residence in Russia. She explores identity, gender roles and power in social structures from the perspective of the women who gave up their jobs and careers to follow their partners abroad.
