Steve Luxembourg

Steve Luxembourg (b. 1993, Germany) is a photographer, filmmaker and musician living and working between Kandern and Braunschweig, Germany. In his photographs and films, Luxembourg examines landscapes on the border between nature and civilization, found objects and places of Christianity, often in his home regions of Alsace and Southern Germany. In his three-part series “to MONT NOIR”, Luxembourg thematizes the symbol of the mountain, through the exploration of disused mining zones. Particularly present are the traces of potash mining: heaps, more than a hundred meters high, with salt crusts, like first snow on the steep, dark slopes.
